In the trenches...

The trenching is done and the forms for the footings are set up. This means you can now see the outline of the house!

Speaking of which, here is a link to the builder's floorplans. Our plan is a modification to "Residence 8." After you look at their floorplan (if you bother) you can see a rather messy version which shows most of our modifications. A major change is that one garage becomes one of the "Jack & Jill" bedrooms (bedroom 4), an additional third garage is added to replace that, and the garages are angled. The other big change is in the master bathroom, where we removed the tub and expanded the shower to double size with extra shower heads. Donna has changed the kitchen some, most notably enlarging the island.

So, here's the latest look of our property. We have a couple shots with just the trenching done (this is my crude attempt at a panoramic shot)...











Just a couple of days later they had the forms in for the footers.



The picture below is just a close up of the crew's handiwork. Does it look okay? I've never built a house before (okay, I'm not really building one now) so I don't know what it should look like.
