...and a roof over our heads.
Note: Wait! If you have not read the previous posts yet, please read at least the two or three preceding this post. The pictures in this post show pretty dramatic changes that lose some of their drama if you don't have the earlier pics to compare with them.
Thank you.
I will wait right here while you click the links over there on the right to view the earlier posts. At the very least, go to "Whole Latte Vente..." and click on the first picture. It's the best one for comparison.
When you come back to this post, don't be confused. The above note will still be here. But you only have to review the previous pictures once.
Thank you again.
I am just trying to prevent anyone from seeing the pictures prematurely.
Far enough, you think?
Okay, let's go. The last time I was at the property (only two days ago), the pallets of roofing tiles had been delivered and the outside walls and roof were just bare plywood (I know it's not regular plywood). What a difference two days make! Thanks to Rhonda for calling to let us know there were big things to see. As I pulled up over the rise close enough to see the house I just started giggling. I wish Donna could have been here to see it with me.
The first four pics are all the outside shots. I won't add any more comments.
If you can't tell from the pictures, not only are all the roofing tiles on the roof (though not in place yet), but all of the exterior walls are papered and have the "chicken wire" on ready for the stucco! But the paper is so dark it changes the appearance completely.
The remaining pictures are all indoors. Perhaps the biggest change indoors is that all the shower stalls have been put in place (before you ask, Donna, I did not check the crack in the Jack&Jill shower).
Office bathroom:
"Public-area" bathroom: (guest bathroom? front?)
Jack & Jill bathroom:
Custom shower in master suite: (obviously not tiled yet)
And finally, here is a shot of the kitchen from the family room. The pipe sticking up out of the floor is the conduit to bring electricity to the island. The sink will be all the way to the left (under the window). The stove, oven and refrigerator in the center and the pantry is on the right. (Yes, you have to click on it.) Also in this picture, you are looking through the studs into the living room (which we plan on setting up as a library) and the master bedroom beyond that.

Public-area bathroom? That sounds so... public. Solid walls, right?
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire - we are SOOOO having Christmas at your house. Maybe even Thanksgiving at this rate. Or not. You'll probably be in Oakland. Okay, I'll settle for Christmas.
Well, as I indicated in my original post, I am not sure what to call it. Probably "guest" bathroom.
And why didn't you "sign" your post, Anonymous? Who are you?
I tried to sign my post - but sometimes the blog won't let me... Perhaps it is that Mac thing. I'm going to try to "sign" this post, but in case it doesn't work - this is ANDREA.
Yeah - not working for some reason - and yet I have been able to do it in the past - don't know what the dealio is. But the house looks cool. And that's all that matters.
HOLY COW! When are you guys moving in, next week????? That is a lot of change.
Which bathroom is mine???
Rachel
Whoa... Andrea is suggesting Thanksgiving at your new house? Look... You can have Christmas. I'm not complaining at all. But come on... Let Maggie have Thanksgiving.
This has been a public service announcement.
